Vashon Island Community Church Deacon Board

Service is at the heart of Christian leadership. And the word “deacon,” used in ancient times of those who waited tables, literally means “servant.” Our church is blessed with a servant-leadership team we call our Deacon Board.

Together with our pastor, our deacons lead the church, steward its resources, care for the people, and provide spritual counsel, all while exemplifying those twin biblical requirements of servant leadership: being “full of the Spirit and wisdom” (Acts 6:3).
